Immunity in Decapod Crustaceans

Immunity in the decapod crustaceans is surveyed. Types of immune responses include encapsulation, phagocytosis with or without the aid of serum factors, bactericidins active with or without the aid of hemocyte factors, hemagglutinins, hemolysins, agglutinins, and precipitins. Immunity to gaffkemia in Panulirus interruptus is also discussed.
